Exciting days with Cousins’ Camp at the house this week! Fun, but also very busy! Not much time to write, but I have been thinking about my last post and the interview with James Gustave Speth. His ideas about the recession leading our country to reinventing our American Dream reminded me of a wonderful organization and a great resource for parents: The Center for a New American Dream. Their mission statement says a lot, “The Center for a New American Dream helps Americans consume responsibly to protect the environment, enhance quality of life, and promote social justice.”
One of their FREE resources is an incredible handbook, Tips for Parenting in our Commercial Culture. It is jam-packed with helpful ideas, practical tips and further resources for raising healthy children in these commercialized times. I have used the brochure in my work with parents and in my own personal life. It is a valuable tool to add to your parenting toolbox!
