Screen-Free Week is almost here!

Are you and your family ready to power down your screen entertainment for one week? Screen-Free Week is an annual celebration in which millions of people across the country take an intentional break from the digital world – and turn on the world around them. It is a time for reconnecting with your family, your neighbors, nature and more.

Having participated in Screen-Free Week for many years, one thing I do know is that it is very helpful to plan ahead. Get the whole family involved in planning your screen-free adventures. Plan a hike, a picnic, a bike ride, a game night, or whatever you and your family can imagine. The Screen-Free Week website has lots of ideas and supports.

TRUCE (Teachers Resisting Unhealthy Children’s Entertainment) also has some fantastic new resources that are perfect for Screen-Free Week. Check them out:

Check out our new SEASONAL SCREEN-FREE PLAY PLANS, developed to inspire families to play together! We start with activities for Spring: Bubbles, String-play and Gardening. Feel free to download your own copy of each plan in either color or black and white. Have a look and let the screen-free play begin!
